The work, inspired by Coreggio’s work of the same name, was created for a Renaissance inspired exhibition shown during Miami Art Week 2022.

I’m excited and honoured to share that “L’après-midi d’un désastre romantique” - my collaborative work with Federico Salvador @no_faith_left - has been chosen to be exhibited at @artverseparis during Paris Photo Week. The Unseen exhibition will be on show tomorrow November 7th, curated by @obscura.io and @objktcom and supported by the Tezos Foundation.

“Preserved Beauty” is a 7 piece conceptual sel

“Preserved Beauty” is a 7 piece conceptual self-portrait series created around the lengths we sometimes go to, in order to hold on to and preserve that which we find beautiful. 🖤🍂🩸🌺

Plastic wrapping, pickling and the art of preservation/conservation itself, all start out as a means to hold on to the natural beauty in an object.

The preservation process however often quickly leaves the object fading, estranged from the natural world and sometimes even more scary than beautiful..

The Preserved Beauty series was awarded an honourable mention in the 18th Julia Margaret Cameron Award for female photographers 🙏🏼

I started creating video works at the beginning of 2023 as a natural progression from still photography, in order to tell more immersive stories. This has led to an exciting journey of embracing imperfections and surprising results, like here when our black cat was clearly worried about what I was doing out there in the snow, and suddenly became an intrinsic part of the story.

I’m very excited to continue exploring this new medium alongside my still photography going forward.

“Light your own way” is a conceptual self-port

“Light your own way” is a conceptual self-portrait created at the end of the first covid lockdown, where finding and lighting your own way through the turmoil of emotions and thoughts literally became the only way forward at a time of great uncertainty. The complete loss of my own creativity during the first part of lockdown furthermore fuelled the fears, but turned out to be a very powerful source of creative ideas at the end.

Lighting my own way has become a cornerstone of how I think of my own creative journey too. We all have different paths to being an artist, and mine went through a decade long phase of science, before being able to return to my creative roots. Turning this around to be a win of life experience and not a loss of time spent doing art, has been part of lighting that part.

On a larger scale, this work also represents the transformative power of an artist’s journey on an inner, emotional level.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My work is the result of decades of tough inner work in order to reach the freedom of expression through art, and most important self-acceptance.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is a huge importance of the female gaze at this time - Women telling our own stories, in our own voice, without fear.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m carrying that torch forward for my daughters, and would love to see it carried further out into the world too.
